Faithful and True: Jesus Christ is Unchanging

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.

The purpose of this writing today, dear brothers and sisters, is to immerse ourselves in an extraordinary truth, the bedrock of our faith, the anchor of our souls, the compass of our lives - the unmatched and unchanging faithfulness of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We live in a world that is constantly shifting, always adjusting, and perpetually changing. It is like standing on shifting sands where nothing is certain but uncertainty itself. In such a world, we often yearn for something, someone, unchanging, and trustworthy. In such times of uncertainty, we turn to the words of Revelation 19:11: "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True."

Our Lord Jesus Christ is presented here not only as faithful but also as true. His faithfulness is not a fleeting phenomenon, changing with the seasons or the tides. His truth is not relative, shifting with perspectives or opinions. Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, is unwaveringly faithful and unchangingly true.

In a world that often confuses us with conflicting perspectives and varied truths, the consistency of Jesus offers solace. His words are not just words; they are the ultimate truth. His promises are not empty; they are the embodiment of faithfulness. When He says in Matthew 28:20, "And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the world," He means it with every fibre of His divine being. He is with us in our joy and our sorrow, our strength and our weakness, our victories and our defeats.

Faced with life's trials and tribulations, let us remember the faithfulness of Jesus. When we are weary, let us remember His promise in Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." When we are afraid, let us remember His reassurance in John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace, I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

So, my dear brothers and sisters, let us take heart. Let us anchor our souls in the faithfulness of our Lord and the truth of His words. Jesus Christ, our Saviour, is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). His love does not waver, His grace does not diminish, His mercies are new every morning, and His truth endures to all generations.

As we continue our journey with Christ, let us walk hand in hand with Him. Let us trust in His faithfulness, rely on His truth, and rest in His promises. For in Him, we find a steadfast anchor for our souls and an unchanging guide for our lives. As we part today, may His love enfold you, His peace empower you, and His truth guide you.

May the unwavering faithfulness and eternal truth of our Lord Jesus Christ keep our hearts steadfast and our spirits strong today and forevermore. Amen.
